Have you ever felt like the person you present to the world is not the real you?

Or that you are a different person, depending on the people around you?

If this is you, you’re not alone.

Chances are that you have disconnected with Your Authentic Self.

Who is Your Authentic Self

Your Authentic Self knows your true value and potential in all aspects of your life.

It acknowledges the slip ups of the past, and honours them as ‘life lessons’.

Your Authentic Self ensures that you remain in an open and honest space whereby you take full ownership of your thoughts, words, emotions and actions.

It knows your core values and works hard to ensure that your actions align as perfectly as possible to them.

You Authentic Self has the ability to express themselves openly, and does not fear judgement or criticism from others.

Why Be Your Authentic Self

Have you ever the story of the two wolves?

Essential you have inside of you two wolves who are entangled within a life long battle with each other.

One represents darkness, the other light.

Which wolf will eventually win?

The wolf you feed.

This isn’t just some fantasy fable, you really do have two wolves battling it out inside of you.

Only, they aren’t wolves – they are Your Ego and Your Authentic Self.

When you stop feeding your Ego and instead, focus on Your Authentic you will feel a sense of inner peace like never before.

And with inner peace, you will also sense a profound sense of freedom.

Freedom from other people’s opinions and assumptions.

Freedom from judgement and criticism.

You will have the ability to recognise when other people are projection their limitations onto you.

Your Authentic Self is your Inner Cheerleader, and with your cheerleader in your corner you are able to fulfil your true potential.

You will know your life’s path and more importantly, all your actions will be aligned so that you are actively following your true authentic path.

Living your true authentic life.

Being your true authentic self.

Have you connected with Your Authentic Self?

Whether you are just starting your journey, or are trying to stay connected, here are 5 Habits to feed Your Authentic Self.

5 Habits of Your Authentic Self

Habit 1: Gratitude

From an energy perspective, the universe likes to ensure that like attracts like.

Let me explain.

Have you ever found that when life is giving you lemons, all you get is just more lemons?

When things in life go wrong, you start to complain.

The more you complain, the more things go wrong.

What is happening here is the more your energy is focused on complaining, the more the universe will provide you with something to complain about.

Where your focus goes, energy flows.

When your focus is on the negative, on the complaint, then that’s what you’ll get in abundance.

Your Authentic Self knows this all too well!

Practicing a daily habit of gratitude empowers Your Authentic Self to focus on the positives.

It enables you to acknowledge, embrace and be thankful for all the love, support, stability and abundance you already have.

Remember, where your focus goes, energy flows!

When your focus is on the abundance you already have, what happens?

The door opens for more abundance!

Habit 2: Visualise Your Extraordinary Life

There is no doubt about it, Your Authentic Self wants you to excel at anything your heart desires.

It knows that you are not here on this Earth to be mediocre, you are here to be extraordinary.

Whether that’s having a high flying career, or living in solitude in the forest (or both!), Your Authentic Self wants you to achieve all of your dreams with passion!

The first trick is to know what you authentically want from yourself and your life.

The second trick is to then have the ability to keep that vision so that you can ensure that all your actions are aligned with your life’s path.

Taking time out each day to focus on and visualise your authentic life, will help you keep those dreams and goals at the forefront of your mind.

You feed your dream, not complacency.

Habit 3: Create Your Bubble

While Your Authentic Self is open, honest and free – it also has boundaries.

Very safe, secure and impenetrable boundaries!

Now don’t get me wrong, the boundaries I’m talking about aren’t designed to close you off from the world. Far from it.

Your Authentic Self knows the importance of energy flow, and the dangers when yours or other people’s energies come from Ego.

That’s why we have the Bubble of Protection in our toolbox.

Making a daily habit of surrounding yourself within a bubble of protection will help you in a few ways.

Primarily, your bubble will not allow other peoples Ego’s to infiltrate your own energy.

In other words, when someone is attempting to energetically instil in you their own limitations, your bubble will allow this energy to simply bounce off and away from you.

Your bubble will allow authentic energy in, but keep unauthentic energy firmly out.

But this bubble works both ways.

As you will experience this energy from other people, so too will other people experience this energy from you.

When your Ego tries to set a limitation on someone else, your bubble will not allow this energy to leave your bubble.

Instead, it will dissolve within your bubble’s energy field, keeping both you and the other person safe and free from Ego attacks.

Habit 4: The Periodic Check In

As explained earlier, to be walking the path of Your Authentic Self means having an awareness of your thoughts, words, emotions and actions.

It means that ensuring that your all your thoughts, words, emotions and actions are aligned and focused on your extraordinary life.

Throughout your day, it is vital that you continue to check in with yourself to ensure that you are still completely aligned.

Your inside world creates your outside world.

Thoughts and emotions can be very tricky and it can be so easy to allow an unempowering one to sneak in and take hold.

Once it does, you feed your Ego. You know, that part of you who wants nothing more than to keep you stagnating where you are.

When you are aware of your thoughts and feelings, you can being to notice whether they are empowering, or disempowering.

Whether they are aligned with Your Authentic Self or with Your Ego.

Once you have consciously established a disempowering thought and emotion, you can take action to change it to a thought or emotion much more in line with Your Authentic Self.

Habit 5: Stillness

Another habit that Your Authentic Self excels at is the art of stillness.

Let’s face it, our day to day lives can get quite busy with the little stuff.

Has the dishwasher been filled / put on / emptied?

Is it black bins or green bins this week?

Can I get another journey out of my car before it needs filling up?

From dawn until dusk our to do lists seems endless.

There never seems to be enough time to get things done.

By the way, this fretting over these little day to day things – that’s your Ego.

You remember your Ego, the one that likes to clutter your mind so that you don’t focus on fulfilling your potential.

I told you that Ego of yours was one tricky thing!

To overcome a cluttered mind, and to allow Your Authentic Self to shine through, it is important to create a daily practice of stillness.

But what do I mean by stillness?

Ultimately, being ‘still’ is a way of clearing yourself of all thoughts and emotions and just being present with yourself.

No judgements, no ‘just gotta do that’s’, just being still, calm and completely present.

The deepest way to achieve this is through meditation.

However for beginners, all you really need to do is simply sit down.

Keep your eyes open and gaze at what is directly in front of you.

When a thought or emotion pops in, allow it, and then release it.

Keep doing this until you are able to just sit there, with no intruding thoughts or feelings.

Stay in this calm, neutral state for as long as you can.

Have You Lost Touch with Your Authentic Self?

Within you, there are two voices: your Ego and your Heart.

Quite simply put, your Ego tends to be a bit of a negative Nancy (or Nevil) as far as your Authentic Extraordinary Life is concerned.

You see, instead of building you up, cheering you on, and giving you the confidence to go out there and succeed in anything you want to do in life, your Ego does just the opposite.

Its sole purpose in life is to reinforce that:

  • You can’t
  • You’re not good enough
  • They’ll judge you

Your Authentic Self is quite literally the opposite of your Ego.

While your Ego wants to keep you down, your Authentic Self wants to build you up, cheer you on and give you the confidence to go out there and succeed in anything you want to do in life.

When pushed to the foreground, your Authentic Self will make it clear that:

  • You can
  • You are good enough
  • Nobody will judge you
